Our targeted impact

ADA aims to strengthen the economic resilience and autonomy of vulnerable populations in Africa, Central America and South-East Asia by providing access to services tailored to their needs. To achieve this, we equip local economic actors with the means to develop and deliver these services sustainably through impact finance and technical assistance.

ADA aims to empower local actors with impact finance and technical assistance to develop inclusive and sustainable solutions to strengthen the autonomy of vulnerable populations.

The aim is to give people an active role in reducing their vulnerabilities by providing them with a choice in how to improve their living conditions in a lasting, sustainable manner.

Target populations

ADA supports economically vulnerable people in Africa, Central America and South-East Asia with a low or unstable income or a lack of access to financial services.

These people may face additional socio-demographic vulnerability (age, gender etc.) or environmental vulnerability (sensibility to climate change, degradation of natural resources etc.).

Intended effects on target populations

By strengthening the local economic system, ADA enables vulnerable people to access a variety of services and solutions to:

Seize economic opportunities, create decent and inclusive jobs and cope with potential shocks thanks to a range of financial services, including insurance

Meet their essential needs with basic services such as clean water and solar energy which also often enable income-generating activities

Obtain a tailored loan and put it to good use thanks to technical and entrepreneurial training

Access markets thanks to an easy identification of suppliers or customers and streamlined transactions between economic actors.

Intended effects on the local economy

ADA does not interact with these target populations directly but instead strengthens local economic actors such as SMEs, financial service providers and economic development organisations such as professional associations, NGOs or business incubators to enable them to provide the necessary services.

ADA fosters inclusive and sustainable economic development towards an impact economy by:

facilitating access to impact financing for local actors and by strengthening their internal organisation to develop inclusive, lasting and sustainable products and services that strengthen the autonomy of vulnerable populations.

encouraging partnerships between different actors to offer vulnerable populations a combination of products and services.

Impact measurement and sharing lessons learned

ADA will measure the impact of its activities by analysing the medium-term changes for the target populations, local actors and the environment. In a spirit of continuous improvement, this will enable ADA to upscale the most impactful solutions and to adjust those that are less impactful.

This experience will be shared with other impact finance and development stakeholders to encourage the replication of impactful approaches.
