ADA Chair

Strengthening knowledge and impact of inclusive finance

The Chair in Financial Law (Inclusive Finance), sponsored by ADA and the University of Luxembourg, aims to strengthen research, training and knowledge sharing in inclusive finance and financial law.

It contributes to the development of inclusive and sustainable financial ecosystems in emerging and developing economies, while cementing Luxembourg’s role as an international hub for inclusive finance.

The 2026-2030 Memorandum of Understanding marks a new stage in this collaboration, with a stronger focus on dissemination and research impact.

Key activities of the Chair

—  Research

For the period 2026-2030, the Chair’s academic and applied research work will focus on key issues in financial law and inclusive finance:

certificate

  • Measurement and impact of financial inclusion;
  • Regulation of sustainable and impact finance;
  • Regulation of financial technology innovations.

—  Capacity building

The Chair contributes to capacity building through specialised training, in particular the Certificate in Inclusive Finance Law and Regulation, intended for professionals in the inclusive finance sector – from financial institutions to regulators – around the world.

—  Knowledge sharing

The Chair promotes dialogue between researchers and practitioners by organising regular conferences, seminars and international events — such as the conference on research into inclusive and sustainable finance — to stimulate knowledge exchange in the sector.

Role of ADA: bridging the gap between academic research and practice

Drawing on its international network, ADA acts as a bridge between academic research and inclusive finance professionals, facilitating the synthesis and dissemination of knowledge useful to the sector.

This outreach and dissemination effort aims to transform the Chair’s work into operational tools and useful knowledge to improve regulatory frameworks, public policies and industry practices.
